You can be presented as you wish, there is no problems for embarkation or anytime throughout the cruise.
When you check in with your ID you will get your cruise card, this has to remain the same as per the ID. They were trying to find ways to get your preferred names showing on here but the director said this has to be the exact same as per maritime law for all fire and safety regulations.
So what happens next is the ship has a manifest of your cabin numbers and preferred names, they will have all your cabin name signs , in cabin collateral , hotel and your wait staff know you as your preferred name.
I will forward the complete reply through our cruise phone group
I must soon book my flight to Melbourne from Sydney. I will be flying on the Thursday and would like to travel dressed. As I have never done this before I would appreciate being able to travel, for morale support, on the same flight with another member who is going on the cruise.
Also I'd appreciate any suggestions for reasonable hotels to stay at in Melbourne.
noted this in my travel summary
in my cruise personaliser
PROGRESSIVE CRUISE CHECK-IN INFORMATION
To help facilitate a smooth start to your voyage we have implemented a progressive cruise check-in schedule. Please arrive at the check-in time listed below. If you have purchased a Princess Cruise Plus Package/Transfer, your check-in time will be provided at your hotel or the airport. Guests travelling on shared transport or arriving as a group will be checked in together. Priority check-in will be available to guests with Priority Boarding within the allocated check-in times. Boarding will commence shortly after check-in. Please do not arrive prior to the start of cruise check-in as your cabin will not be ready.

Looks like most of us will have a 3.00pm Checkin
I would take those check-in times with a grain of salt - particularly as I have seen the ship is due to sail at 4pm. Which I also don't believe as we will be sailing very slowly to Sydney so there is no need for the ship to leave Melbourne s0 early).
The suggestions for boarding times are really designed to reduce the 12 midday crowd which can be very big as everyone likes to board at midday.
Generally I have no trouble boarding at any time, probably because (a) I am ancient, and (2) I am an Elite member of Princess. We have also found boarding at 1.30 to 2 pm can be quite fast
I think we should plan to board around 1 pm to 1.30 and present as a group. I, as Elite passenger can go to the front of the queue and, if you are with me at the start of check-in, I suspect that they will let us all go together to the front of the queue.
In order to achieve this we need to agree on a time AND place to meet just outside the port gates. It is years since I sailed into Melbourne - last time there was a cafe across the road, next to the tram stop. If it is still there I would suggest we meet there.
Has anyone got any better suggestions ?
Only 4 more sleeps until we go aboard for our epic voyage!
Since it was Transgender Day of Visibility last Friday. I thought we could celebrate that this comi g Friday. I have a Large Transgender Flag for some photo opportunties.
I wondee if we can persuade the Captain to fly it from the mast on the Bridge????
What time are you planning to arrive at the Melbourne Station Pier Gates? I plan to be there at about 1pm and may meet up there with Theresa and Lucy, also possible, Fay and Shana. Any body else planning to get there around then ?
And one final tip/suggestion. When we get into our cabins there will normally be a slip of paper that advises our meal time AND table. I know our agent has suggested everything is sorted so we can sit together, but it is not unusual for the table allocations to be incorrect.
So I suggest that, as soon as possible after boarding, we contact each other to ensure our tables are correct. If they are not, some of us will have to go down to the main restuarant (probably around 3- 4pm) where the Maitre Dee accepts/rejects table change requests - and there are offen queues of people trying to talk to him.
So please communicate with the others in the group as soon as possible after boarding.
It is hard to believe it is only 3 nights to go - safe journeys, and i look forward to meeting those of you I haven't met before.
I will be herding cats at checkin ..hopefully around 1.00pm Hopefully there wont be too many people in the queue and we can checkin or at least get our bags on board early
Thats the Plan
See you all Friday
From the Ashes of Transformal 2018 An event idea arose as a Phoenix in the name of “Cruise to Nowher “(sic
I have to say this Phoenix flew very high and exceeded expectations on many fronts and surpassed Transformal in one key factor that is very important to me these days, the enjoyment of mixing with the wider public.
We flew the Transgender Flag at a group photo opportunity and very soon a fellow passenger amongst a group of ladies came over to ask what the Flag stood for. A lovely conversation then developed amongst us. Priceless !!!
Many other situations like that arose during the voyage.
It wouldn’t take two seconds for me to decide YES to do this again if the opportunity arises .
Thanks to a great group of TGR Members you know who you are .. Love you !!! ( and of course Geoff and Helen) who signed up for this cruise and made it SO enjoyable
Finally, thanks to Shana for the concept, working through all the issues that were of concern and resolving them.
Thanks to Shanalee and all who helped organise one of my most memorable events of our community.
It was pretty special spending four days with wonderful friends in a beautiful setting experiencing all sorts of new encounters.
Unfortunately this photo is only eleven of our fourteen group members.
Hope we can do it again.
