HRT My Journey Part 3 (Caroline) 3 months 4 weeks ago #1

Part 3 is now in my latest blog entry,

I've written this as my best recollection of events hoping that it will show others what can be involved before you can commence Hormone Therapy. It has brought me much happiness.

I really dont know how things will continue to go for me but at the moment I am enjoying life to the full and contemplating going to my current part time job as Caroline in a couple of months or so.

Thanks for reading my story

So good to hear, Caroline. I wonder if you wouldn’t mind sharing what hrt regime you are on (eg estrogen patches, progesterone, testosterone blockers etc.)? I have been on estrogen patches (2.5 mgm) for 2 months now, and not experiencing much effect yet. Think I might need to review my regime.
Cheers
Fran

Hi Caroline
What jumps out to me is the obviousl and normal similarities when soaking up the dreaded HRT. So far, I haven't experienced any nasties, but, like you have enjoyed a kind of blissful comfort and happiness. I suppose I definitely feel more feminine if that's possible. The skin, so I'm told is softer, my strength weaker, my wrinkles just as deep and aging. I reiterate that the estrogen pills ought to have been prescribed years ago. What took so long? fear, fear of change, fear of loss or losses. I'm due to a regular consultation with my friendly obstetrician/gyncologist in a couple of week. My health has continued to improve, all round. Going full time? May the Force be with you.'

Thanks Liz for your post sharing your own feelings.
It is extraordinary that there is this feeling of emotional contentment that seems to develop after some time on Hormones. Ive found the E implants have a more powerful effect than the E patches.
In terms of feminising effects
Im certainly full time F in my mind but have to revert to M when the grandkids are around.
Im OK with that
Lifes pretty good right now for me.
All the best to you and yours.

Too true.

I'm amused how girls so often use breast growth as the main reason for starting hormones and as the measure of their success after a few months. The reality is that the psychological change is far more profound, is not visible with a tape measure, and doesn't happen overnight, even if you overdose, Its nice to live without breast forms but far, far nicer to live with brain that has been untangled free of gender dissonance.

Adrian,
That's the whole essence of taking estrogen, the effects on the mind, peace and tranquillity.
